- AccessibilityThe Zoo offers wheelchairs to elderly visitors and People of Determination. These are available from Guest Relations near the main entrance.
- Lost & FoundYou can claim a lost item within 7 days, from the main Guest Happiness Office, as long as you provide photo identification such as an ID card or a driver’s license. After that time, the item will be turned over to the police or Red Crescent as appropriate.
If, on the other hand, you spot an item lost on the premises, please deliver it to the main Guest Happiness Office.

Visitor Guidelines
What you need to be aware of before and during your time in the Zoo.
- Visiting with ChildrenWe’re happy to welcome families and children to explore and learn. Here are few guidelines to ensure your visit is safe pleasurable:
- Ensure that children are supervised at all times. Do not allow them to go to any part of the zoo alone.
- Stay together as a family.
- Please remind children to walk rather than run and to use quiet voices, as the Zoo is shared with other visitors and animals.
- Encourage your children to ask questions, and appreciate nature responsibly.
- School TripsPlease take note of the following:
- Students must remain under adult supervision at all times.
- Chaperones and teachers are responsible for leading assigned students and ensuring they stay together.
- Make sure students do not litter, climb on exhibits or trees, or damage Zoo property.
- Feeding or touching animals without supervision is not permitted. Follow the guidance of the zoo staff.
- Code of ConductTo ensure that all visitors have a pleasant experience, please follow these guidelines:
- Running, rough play, and any disruptive or unsafe behavior is not allowed.
- Verbal or physical harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior toward others is strictly prohibited.
- Do not interfere with other guests’ experiences or disturb the animals.
- Respect Zoo grounds, signage, and exhibits at all times.
- PhotographyPhotography for personal use is welcome throughout Al Ain Zoo. However:
- Commercial or for-profit photography and filming require prior approval.
- Please do not use flash or equipment that may disturb animals or other guests.
- The Zoo may conduct photography or video recording for safety and promotional purposes. By entering, you consent to the use of such images.
- Prohibited ItemsThe following are not permitted on the Zoo premises:
- Smoking, including electronic cigarettes.
- Commercial photography, solicitation, or leaflet distribution without prior consent.
- Loud music, amplified sound, or disruptive noise-making devices.
- Any activity that could disturb animals or other guests.
Health & Safety
Important information to help you stay safe and happy during your visit.
- Safety MeasuresAl Ain Zoo maintains strict safety standards to protect both visitors and wildlife.
- Follow all warning signs around enclosures.
- Never lean on, climb, or cross safety barriers around enclosures.
- Do not feed or throw objects into animal enclosures.
- Always walk carefully and stay on designated paths.
- Animal SafetyThe Zoo’s top priority is the well-being of its animals. You must:
- Avoid loud noises, banging on glass, or yelling at animals.
- Do not feed or touch animals unless under the supervision of Zoo staff.
- Report any unsafe behavior immediately to a staff member.
- Wash your hands after any approved animal interactions. Handwashing facilities are available in designated areas like the giraffe feeding zone.
- First AidThe First Aid Room is located at the Main Entrance. Zoo staff or Security will assist you in reaching it if an accident or health concern arises.
Notify the nearest Zoo staff member immediately. They will immediately contact the Manager on Duty, and help you receive assistance. - Getting LostIf someone from your group becomes separated:
- Inform a Zoo staff member or security guard right away.
- Lost visitors or students will be taken to the Guest Relations Office near the entrance for assistance until reunited with their group.
- Please ensure all children know who their chaperone or guardian is and carry an emergency contact number.
- Darkness In Zoo AreasCertain areas, such as the Nocturnal House, have lower light levels to replicate animal habitats. Be mindful of the following:
- Allow your eyes to adjust slowly before moving forward.
- Proceed carefully to avoid tripping or bumping into others.
- Follow all signage and staff instructions for your safety.
- EmergenciesIn the event of an emergency, rest assured, our zoo staff are trained to manage emergency situations and will provide clear guidance. Here’s what you need to do:
- Remain calm and follow staff or public-address instructions.
- Do not leave your group.
- Move carefully toward the nearest safe area or exit as instructed.
